10 Picks of the Week – April 30

In Music, Pick 10, Playlist, Weekly 10 on April 30, 2008 at 7:15:14 pm

Weekly 10 Title

This week’s playlist was put together while it was still summer-ish weather here. It isn’t any more, so this is a bit irrelevant.

  1. Is She Really Going Out With Him? – Sugar Ray
  2. You Don’t Know What Love Is – The White Stripes
  3. Sour Times – Portishead
  4. To Get Down – Timo Maas
  5. (Baby I’ve Got You) On My Mind – Powderfinger
  6. Running Blind – Godsmack
  7. Going On – Gnarls Barkley
  8. Hard Feelings – Constantines
  9. All Out Of Love (Guiseppe D’s and Kevin Churko’s Radio Mix) – Jenna Drey
  10. Moonchild – M83

Preview the playlist on my Muxtape. Click on the “Buy this MP3” link on each song in the Muxtape to buy it from Amazon.

Here is the iMix, so you can buy all of the songs (except for “Running Blind”) from iTunes.

So I Have This Weird Obsession

In Observations, Random on April 24, 2008 at 10:45:09 pm

I changed my blog style again. It’s warming up (barely) here, and I feel like spring is around the corner.

Nothing else changed, really.

Teeny-Tiny Observation

In Observations, Random on April 22, 2008 at 5:14:26 pm

It seems that metric countries, such as my own, get a metric Weather icon on the iPod Touch. I didn’t realize this until today. Maybe I’m blind?

By the way, since the Calendar app has today’s date in its icon, how hard would it be for Apple to include the current weather forecast in the Weather icon? Once it has been downloaded, it would be great for a quick glance. If it hasn’t been updated, say, in the last day, it could revert back to the sunny, 23° icon.

Oh, and I was going to post this from my iPod when I actually noticed it, but apparently, the WordPress composer window doesn’t work on the iPod. Darn.

10 Picks of the Week – April 22

Weekly 10 Title

Since this is going to be a weekly feature, I figured I’d better give it its own category and banner. How cool.

This week’s:

  1. Revelations – Audioslave
  2. Drunken Lament – Ludo
  3. Let Me Put My Love Into You – AC/DC*
  4. White – Lights
  5. Death to Los Campesinos! – Los Campesinos
  6. Clap Hands – Beck
  7. Music (DJ PM and Eddie Reznik Club Mix) – Knob
  8. Too Long/Steam Machine – Daft Punk**
  9. Jesus Walks – Kanye West
  10. Masters of the Universe – Juno Reactor
*Sorry about this one – I can’t find a place to buy the individual song online, only to buy the full album.
**Sorry about this one – you have to buy the album to get the song. But it’s worth it.
Hope you like this week’s edition. I made an iMix with these, but it’s not yet available on the iTunes store. I’ll update this when it is, so you can buy all of the tracks (except “Let Me Put My Love Into You” and “Music”) in one convenient place.
Update: Here’s a link to the iMix.

Rent-A-Grad

In Funny, Personal, School on April 17, 2008 at 11:32:17 am

To fundraise for our grad, we set up this event called “Rent-A-Grad”. The idea is basically that we have an auction for all of the one-day rental of all of the grads. Younger grades and teachers bid on us, then whoever wins gets us as their slave for the day.

I got off pretty easy. The person who won me was a teacher, so all I have to do is take some pictures, then throw them together in an iMovie. However, some people didn’t.

One of my friends is dressed as some deformed type of hobbit. They also made him put on makeup and curl his eyelashes. Another duo remind me of Tweedledum and Tweedledee. They’re dressed as ladybugs. Oh, and because I lent the renter some money, they bought me Starbucks. It’s called a bargain.

But my favourite, by far, is the dressed-as-a-bunny friend. Yeah…

Honourable mentions go to all of the guys in my grade who are now dressed as women. Not sexy, despite what you may think.

Pictures may or may not be up later.
